百日咳感染が急増ン
百日咳の患者数が全国で急激に増加しています。国立感染症研究所によると、2024年の1月から3月までの3カ月間で報告された患者数は3522人に達し、すでに2023年の1年間の患者数(2844人)を上回りました。
特に東京都や大阪府、福岡県などの大都市圏で感染者が多く報告されています。百日咳は乳児が重症化しやすいことで知られており、専門家は早めのワクチン接種や感染対策の徹底を呼びかけています。
百日咳は細菌による感染症で、激しい咳が特徴です。大人が感染しても軽症で済むことが多いですが、免疫がない乳児の場合は呼吸困難に陥る恐れがあるため、特に注意が必要です。
感染者の増加には、新型コロナウイルスの流行期間中に百日咳の流行が抑えられていたことで、免疫を持つ人が減っていることが一因と考えられています。今後も感染の拡大が懸念されており、医療機関や自治体は警戒を強めています。
