Vin Diesel Hints At Groot Spinoff Movie Based On Marvel’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Character: “Disney Wants Their Planet X”

Vin Diesel gave a recap on what he’s working on in 2025 and hinted that he might reprise his role as Groot from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Fast & Furious actor gave a rundown of his work and mentioned a standalone project starring the extraterrestrial sentient tree-like creature.

“Disney wants their Planet X! Which some say is Marvel’s most anticipated movie, haha. The film where Groot returns to his home planet,” Diesel posted on Instagram.

Diesel voiced Groot for 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy and reprised the role in 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. The actor also made a cameo in Disney’s Ralph Breaks the Internet, which was released in 2018.

It was not until 2022 when Diesel voiced the character again for 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder and 2023’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Groot also appeared in the Disney+ series I Am Groot, with Diesel reprising the Baby Groot character, just like in 2022’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

The other projects that Diesel said he was working on this year included Fast X: Part 2, a Rock’em Sock’em adaptation based on the Mattel toy, and new installments of xXx, Riddick and The Last Witch Hunter.

Diesel also hinted that he was continuing “the fight to bring Fast X2, the finale, back to LA this summer.”

The actor had previously expressed his desire to film the latest installment of the Fast & Furious franchise in LA to help the local economy following the devastating wildfires.

“Last week, during the fires that displaced LA… my sister Jordana [Brewster] reached out to me and said… Please have Universal film the rest of Fast X Part 2 in LA,” Diesel said.

He continued, “Los Angeles needs it now more than ever… Los Angeles is where Fast and Furious started filming 25 years ago… and now Fast will finally return home. All love…”

Justin Baldoni's lawyer 'surprised by Ryan Reynolds' joke'
Justin Baldoni's lawyer was "surprised" to see Ryan Reynolds joke about his client's ongoing lawsuit. The 48-year-old actor seemingly referenced Justin's legal dispute with Blake Lively, Ryan's wife, during the 'SNL50: The Anniversary Special' over the weekend, and Bryan Freedman, Justin's attorney, has now questioned Ryan's decision to joke about the lawsuit. Appearing on 'Hot Mics with Billy Bush', Bryan said: "I'm unaware of anybody, frankly, whose wife has been sexually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation. I can't think of anyone who's done anything like that. It surprised me." During the show, Ryan - who was sat among the audience - was asked: "How's it going?" And in response, the Hollywood star replied: "Great, why? What have you heard?" The joke was widely considered to be a reference to Blake's ongoing legal dispute with Justin. The 37-year-old actress has accused Justin, 41, of causing her "severe emotional distress". The movie star - who played Justin's on-screen love interest in 'It Ends with Us' - previously told the New York Times newspaper: "I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted." Justin - who also directed the 2024 romantic drama film - later denied the allegations, with his lawyer describing the claims as "categorically false". Bryan, who is acting as a lawyer for the actor and his Wayfarer Studios production company, told Variety: "These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media."

Scotiabank Global Equity Research predicted U.S. President Donald Trump’s 10 per cent tariff on all energy imports from Canada, due to go into effect Tuesday, would be short-lived, as higher energy costs pinch American consumers. On Monday afternoon, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the U.S. has agreed to pause tariffs on Canada for at least 30 days.

A 'Water Sandwich' Claims To Ward Off Hangovers — And Doctors Have Thoughts
My best friend provides me with endless amounts of helpful support and wisdom, but one of her most enduring pieces of advice dates back to our college days, when we used to do some pretty irresponsible drinking. We’d mix spirits, we’d drink beer before liquor, we’d down sugary shots practically designed to give us pulverizing headaches … pretty much everything you’ve heard you shouldn’t do while consuming alcohol, we did.

Dodgers' Roki Sasaki offers glimpse of tantalizing potential in anticipated spring training debut
GLENDALE, Ariz. — It’s not too often a sellout crowd is in attendance to see a pitcher who's not starting, but that was the case Tuesday as the world waited to finally watch Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki make his spring training debut for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Cincinnati Reds. It’s been a slow ramp-up to game action for Sasaki, who signed a minor-league deal with the Dodgers this winter. And after pitching in a simulated game last week, he got his first take of game action under the lights at Camelback Ranch.
